Database support page
Need a bit of help? You’re in the right place.
Whether you’re setting up your profile, choosing the right business categories, or navigating the database – this page is here to guide you through the most common questions and issues.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for, don’t worry – just get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
How do I know that my profile is complete?
- Go to ‘my account’
- Go to ‘view/edit my Business Listing’
- Click ‘Update your business listing’
- Check there are no red boxes down the right and side (if there are – go into that section and add the required details) – all sections should be green and have a tick/number (as below)
- Finally, click ‘view my profile’
You should be able to then see your completed profile, as a user would. You can then also double check the CPVs you are registered against by running a couple of searches. You may also find it useful to find similar businesses to yours, and see which CPVs codes they have used
My logo won’t upload?
We have had to restrict file size and control file type to ensure we keep the database running superfast. The file type and size constraints are detailed underneath the box where you upload your file
The database won’t accept my URL?
The URL has to be entered in the format http:// or https://
I am finding it difficult to categorise my business using the services offered?
We have chosen to use the CPV – or Common Procurement Vocabulary structure to organise business types. As weird as it seems, this is the best one available, and whilst a bit clunky, is the best, and is the European standard.
The easiest way to find suitable matches, is a single word search. Type the word in the search field, and hit the search button. The database will then find every listing that has that specific word in it (it has to be an exact match, so you may need to try a couple of time with plural etc.)
The search engine then tells you how many matches it has found for that word, and highlights the top level category in which that match sits. To see the exact matches, click on the highlighted row, and keep clicking down the tree until you reach the match (it may be several layers down)
When you have found a match (and it my be at any level in the tree), click the check box to select it. When you have selected all the categories you want, select ‘Done’
In some instances, the word you searched for may be in a higher level category that doesn’t have a tick box. In many instances it may be worth drilling down to see what sits below that in case there is a match there.
If you enter more than one word in the search bar, it will search for either/or word.
Top Tip: If there are similar businesses to yours on the database, it might be worth seeing which categories they have registered for, and copying that.
My profile shows the registered address of my business, but that isn’t where I am actually based?
New functionality is on it’s way in the next release that will obscure your exact location
I am concerned about my exact business address being listed on the database?
Many businesses register there business with an accountant or similar. You can have multiple locations on your listing, and if your registered address is irrelevant, and you want it de-listed, we are bringing that functionality out in our next release
There are no matches to my search?
Don’t panic, we are here to help. Please use the ‘Support’ Link, at the bottom of every page, and we will use our extensive network to find some potential suppliers for you.
I have signed up to the database, but can other people in my business use it?
Yes, absolutely, the licences you bought in your registration are concurrent licences. Provided you don’t exceed the number of concurrent users, anyone in your business can sign in to use the database.
