It was a privilege to be invited to celebrate the launch of a new book championing financial leadership in SMBs, along with more than 100 LEAD™ delegates and alumni, and 50 leaders from across Gloucestershire.
Written by Dr Stewart Barnes and Professor Malcolm Prowle, ‘Developing Financial Leadership in Small-Medium Businesses’ is intended to inspire businesses globally to take action when it comes to their financial leadership.
The event, both in person and for those watching the the live steam interview hosted brilliantly by Jill Douglas MBE, was a wonderful place to witness the incredible breadth and depth of connections between businesses across our county.
We’ve always known the Gloucestershire business community is a unique one. It’s what inspired the idea for Together Gloucestershire in the first place. So, to be in a room full of senior leaders collaborating and coming together for the better of the county was a privilege.
It was inspiring to see delegates and alumni reconnecting and catching up with one another while forging new relationships with fellow senior leaders, demonstrating the collaborative spirit that makes Gloucestershire’s business community so distinctive.
The Captain’s Lounge at Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester, the site of so many team victories and losses, was a fitting venue as both authors shared why financial leadership is crucial for SMBs to survive and thrive.
